A doodle engine is a means to allow users of your website or cd-rom to draw their own pictures using some basic tools, such as brushes, circles or squares in a variety of colours and thickness. Additional features or tools can be added as required, to allow the placing of instanced imagery for example. Once a user is happy with their picture it can be saved, and then either displayed publicly or privately by an administrator. A huge advantage to our doodle engine is that it uses nothing more than standard Flash technology.
Why would I want a doodle engine?
Doodle engines instantly engage your users - everyone has played with a simple computer based painting package at one time or another, and the simplicity puts everyone at a level playing field. User generated content is a buzz word at the moment, but it is an ideal way of producing an ever changing website, encouraging users to keep returning.
You may wish to have a public gallery on your site, or you might want to allow visitors to use your company branding materials to produce collages and have fun with your assets which they can then send to their friends. Another popular use for a doodle engine is to hold competitions!
