Panoramas:

In its most general sense, a panorama is any wide view of a physical space. At Redtangle we create segmented panoramas in a variety of formats ranging from Quicktime VR to Adobe Flash files. Segmented panoramas, also referred to as stitched, are those that are created by joining multiple digital photographs with slightly overlapping fields of view to create a larger, panoramic image once assembled. Using either a fish-eye or standard lens combined with a digital SLR camera we can take as little as 6 photographs to give a full 360 degree field of view including what's above and below the camera.

Why would I want a panorama?

Panoramas allow you to show off your venue or room, far more than a standard photograph, they can be used not only on websites but on CD-ROMs and touch-screen kiosks. They also allow for a single interface to display far more than the screen itself could ever cater for: clicking through a series of pictures taken from different angles gives nowhere near the same feeling as panning around a panorama.

If you need to show off your venue or bring people to your location, call us and see how we could help you with an interactive panorama.

Flash 360 (requires flash 9 player)

You need to upgrade your Flash Player

Use your mouse to drag the image in any direction, click on hotspots to navigate to the next panorama.

Flash 360 is the latest and greatest of all the panoramic options available, the biggest reason for this is that the majority of browsers already have the required Flash plugin and those that don't are quickly updated. The Flash panoramas can easily be linked together with hotspots as well as links to external files, making them a perfect choice for virtual tours.

Use your mouse to drag the image in any direction

Apple's Quicktime VR movies allow the user to step right inside the photographed scene, using the mouse the user can look up and down as well as all the way round to see exactly what a location is like.

Flash Panorama

You need to upgrade your Flash Player

Use your mouse to move the image left and right

This Flash panorama uses standard Flash technology to allow the user to pan left to right and top to bottom in certain circumstances. It doesn't allow for looking at the sky or floor but can incorporate parallax effects, animated content and interactive elements such as buttons, as well as any standard text or graphical content. Advantages of Flash panoramas include the fact that nearly all of Internet users can view Flash content without the need for any additional downloads - production is also cost effective as there is no need for specialist equipment.
